Hagyard Equine Medical Institute, Lexington, KYHagyard Equine Medical Institute offers state-of-the-art treatment to a diverse equine clientele which represent international breeding operations, world-renowned race horses as well as 3-day eventers and pleasure horses. Projects at the facility have included an 8,983 SF medical barn addition and an 11,000 SF pharmacy addition to the existing main office.
The medical barn includes six ICU stalls and eight foaling stalls separated by a coiling overhead door at the main aisle way, feed storage, laundry area, work station, prep room, two first-floor offices, and six offices and a conference room on the second floor. Stalls, doors, windows, and other components were detailed for maximum safety of the horses and the medical staff, and a below-slab muck conveyor system was incorporated into the design.
