Chapman Technical Group received a Merit Award from the West Virginia Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). The 2016 AIA West Virginia Design Awards Gala and Scholarship Benefit was held in April at the West Virginia Culture Center. The design award recognized the renovation of the State Road Commission Building for the West Virginia Division of Highways District One.

Located in Charleston’s Warehouse District, the 40,000 square-foot structure now provides a secure, modern, office environment while maintaining the building’s historical context. This $6.9-million project is an integral part of the District’s overall campus revitalization. The design team developed the overall campus master plan, and is working on a comprehensive streetscape project for the area. In addition, GRW was recently awarded a contract to design a new $8-million maintenance facility for the District.
